Apply Character Spacing

Intro

Apply Character Spacing can be used as a Style Behaviour on a Text Shape to create procedural kerning pairs. This prevents the need to manually set this up on a case-by-case basis and is ideal for situations where the string may change (e.g. in automated workflows).

UI

+Add - Add a new index.

Match String - Enter the characters to affect.

Character Spacing - Set the Character Spacing for the matched string.

Example
  1. Create a Text Shape
  2. In the Attribute Editor, click the + button on the Style Behaviour attribute.
  3. Select Apply Character Spacing.
  4. Scrub the Apply Character Spacing's Character Spacing attribute in the Attribute Editor.

Note how the spacing between the v and a in Cavalry updates but the other characters are unchanged. Change the string in Match String to ly to only affect those letters or add a new index using the + Add button.
