Align Window

Intro

Align and distribute the bounding boxes of Shapes or align a Path's points.

This window is context aware depending on whether the Select or Edit Shape tool is enabled.

To align or distribute Shapes to a selection of other Shapes, simply select more than one Shape and choose from the options below.

Holding the Option/Alt key while clicking the options below will align or distribute Shapes to the Composition.

To align Points to a selection of other Points simply select more than one Point and choose from the options below.

Holding the Option/Alt key while clicking the options below will align Points to the Composition.

Holding the Shift key while clicking the options below will also align a Point's handles.

If only one Shape is selected then the Alignment options will default to being based on Composition.

Left Align - Horizontally align the left edges of all selected Shapes/Points.
Centre Align - Horizontally align the centre of all selected Shapes/Points.
Right Align - Horizontally align the right edges of all selected Shapes/Points.
Top Align - Vertically align the top edges of all selected Shapes/Points.
Middle Align - Vertically align the centre of all selected Shapes/Points.
Bottom Align - Vertically align the bottom edges of all selected Shapes/Points.

Horizontal Distribution - Distribute all selected Shapes horizontally.
Vertical Distribution - Distribute all selected Shapes vertically.
Even Distribution - Distribute all selected Shapes evenly (horizontally and vertically).

caution

The distribution options are only supported for affecting Shapes with the Select tool.

Shapes are distributed between the first and last selected Shapes.
When distributing Shapes based on selection, a minimum of three shapes are required. If only two Shapes are selected then Horizontal or Vertical Distribution will be applied based on the Composition (as if Option/Alt was held).
