Intro

Chop a Shape into several slices.

UI

Count - Set how may slices to chop the Shape into.

Angle - Set the angle of the slices.

Offset - Add a position offset to the slices along the Angle. Connect a Behaviour (e.g. Random) to affect each slice independently.

Spread - Add a position offset to the slices perpendicular to the Angle. Connect a Behaviour (e.g. Random) to affect each slice independently.

Flatten Shape - When checked, when a sub-mesh like a Duplicator or Text Shape is being 'chopped', the child meshes are flattened into a single mesh.

Flattened Shapes

Note that with Flatten Shape checked:

  • The Shape is handled 'as one' meaning the slices are based on the overall bounding box of the Layer rather then each of the individual child meshes. This can affect the position of the resulting slices.
  • Any input materials are removed. A Sub-Mesh Behaviour can be then added to the Shape and used to apply individual materials to each slice. For example, add a Sub-Mesh as a Deformer to a Duplicator after the Chop Path, and then add a Color Array to the Sub-Mesh's Fill Color to assign a color to each slice.
